Hello there!

So, here we are…… April! One of my favourite months! I’m not a person who waits all year round for a specific season or month; I enjoy every single time of year….I believe that every season has something to offer but spring has a kind of refreshing sense to it! I guess the whole motto of “spring cleaning” somehow makes us feel a little more alive….like we are getting rid of things that we no longer need and we declutter our spaces to make us feel rejuvenated in some way.

I came across this quote that really resonated with the way I’m feeling these last couple of days…..

“The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness the human soul is apt to revive also.”-Harriet Ann Jacobs

Aaaaaa……perfectly said! At this point, this is exactly what I’m seeking…..things to revive the soul. I’m not there yet but I do try and remind myself to do more of things that lift the spirit and the little things that bring make me smile. 😊

I am grateful for orange blossoms….their exquisite smell brings a smile on any face! We are blessed to be living in a region of Greece where the entire area is consumed by orange trees and they really make their presence felt in spring time! Whether you take a stroll or sit on a balcony for a while, their fragrance fills the air!

In the morning I make my coffee and sit on our balcony and just take it all in!

This season also brings the arrival of swallows, something that most people look forward to because everyone knows that when these little birds make their long journey back to Greece, it’s officially spring!!

Fun fact about these little guys is that they make their nests under balconies and apparently they even return to the same nests!

They have made a nest just outside our spare bedroom and in the morning when everything is a little quieter, I swear you’d think they were chatting…..we love listening them!

Schools are still closed….a two-week online schooling ended up being five….but it is what it is and we try to make the best of the situation!

Sure there are moments when it is too much….cooking, cleaning, making sure homework is done, are the devices charged, connect to this platform, open this app….it’s exhausting at times and I see that both Giorgo and I are at the point where we are just a bit worn out.

Getting out of the house is the best thing at this point, just being in nature, taking our dogs out or even just hanging out in our backyard.

The good news is that next week is our Easter break so we’ll get the chance to disconnect a bit and do more of the things we enjoy!

Every Easter, Georgie and I make these delicious traditional cookies that are so so yummy! There is no self control….when you have one, you just can’t stop!  My little baker is really excited about that!

We usually host Easter for our family and friends, which we are hoping we can again this year (fingers crossed 🤞)….so, I’ve decided that I’d like to update our outdoor space a bit.

I have rounded up some inspiration from Pinterest and Tumblr but I haven’t decided just yet what pieces I want to get.

I like to make every space thoughtful and I try to envision even the feelings in a space. I’m drawn towards those French marble bistro tables with the rattan/bamboo chairs….or even a wicker lounge armchair…..So, lots of ideas running in my head and I’m trying to gather it all together so I can come to a conclusion.

I hope you are all well!
