Notes 01.23

Happy New Year! 2023 came with a sense of delight! I’m ready for changes to happen this year! I’m eager to pour my heart out and share my creative side—bold and vulnerable are my new favourite words!

This past year, I experienced a flux of emotions which took a toll on my overall well-being; I now see them as blessings! They were lessons to be learnt and new things to discover that I’m bringing into the new year. Being more gentle with myself and more intentional with my time are high up on my list for 2023.

Over the holidays, I took things slow. I enjoyed the ‘go with the flow’ state we were living in—casual, carefree days….calm mornings, pyjama lounging, Christmas movies, board games and a puzzle of 1000 pieces still on our coffee table waiting to be completed. Gatherings with family and friends were idyllic as I longed to have intimate moments during the holiday season and luckily it was just that!

Calendar

A post-holiday reset is underway in a slow and easy way as we get back to our rituals and daily routines. I’ve noted a few new recipes that I’d like to try this month—mostly warm, hearty meals that I’m hoping my guys will also approve of.

This month I’ll be refreshing my blog’s appearance with a few updates here and there so that it coincides with my perspective of The Art of Life and let more of my joys and curiosities shine through.

Lately

I’m happy to say that I managed to get in a few workouts during the holidays and I’m looking into incorporating some pilates/barre exercises to my weekly programme. So far, Lia Bartha Creator of the B Method and With Sara have caught my attention. They’ve got a 7-day free trial which will give me the chance to see which one I like the most.

Books on my Nightstand | I’m currently reading The Dutch House and I recently purchased Commonwealth by the same author, Wintering and a few new cookbooks are on their way!

Movies | Paris and I went to the movies and saw the new Avatar: The Way of The Water—we loved the first one so, we had to see the second. Although we loved everything about visual effects and the storyline, a three-hour movie was a bit too long for me….but still enjoyed it very much! Luckiest Girl Alive on Netflix was definitely something I didn’t expect! Mila Kunis performance was on point! Also, Glass Onion: Knives Out Mystery was wildly entertaining! We liked it so much that we’re watching Knives Out tonight! Love a good mystery!

Thoughts

As the new year is upon us, I’m fulling embracing the mindset of intentional living—less perfectionism, more intention. It feels so liberating! Reflecting on this past year, I realised I held myself back from sharing….from creating content of the things that speak to me. I was afraid of how I would be perceived. I’m my worst critic.

Bold and vulnerable are the words that are getting me out of my comfort zone. More sharing of what The Art of Life truly means to me from now on!
