Hi!
Here we are, March!! It’s been a year since I started blogging —unbelievable! I’m still learning a lot from this space and mainly about myself! I try to stay focused on my “why”—my post The Art of Life was what really grounded me again. I’m find myself more in tuned to my creative side!
As you may have noticed, my monthly notes consist of photos that I’ve saved—my mood board. It gives me inspiration for the month ahead and somehow keeps me accountable for the things I’d like to do in the upcoming month.
To-Do list
It’s starting to feel like spring these days! Excited for garden hangs and coffee on the balcony! Before any of that though, we have a little prepping that needs to be done! Firstly, our orange trees have to be trimmed which may cause some backyard madness but it needs to be done! Paris says that we have to wait until the weather warms up a little more or it’ll damage the trees. So hopefully by mid March we’ll be all set!
Living in a citrus fruit area, I’m going to be making my citrus jam again—huge hit last year! I’ll share the recipe! As for recipes, need to explore on some new ones! Paris and G are eating machines and I see that they’re a bit bored of the same old, same old….so got to get a bit creative in the kitchen!
Also, thinking of DIY projects that I’d like to do….Paris is not thrilled by any do-it-yourself projects but he’s got faith! ha ha ha! I purchased a large wooden octagon shaped mirror that I’d like to sand and stain to put above our vintage trunk….thinking about a dark stain or a plaster kind of white….thoughts?? The second project is our kitchen tiles….want to paint them….not an easy project but it’s a thought!
Let’s talk books! I purchased quite a few books in the last month! To Paradise by Hanya Yanagihara, City of Girls & The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion….and a few more! What I decide to read though is Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. After listening to an interview with Fearne Cotton on the Happy Place Podcast—I instantly wanted to read it! I love reading and listening to people’s ideas, work, advice, experiences….they’re so compelling!
Long weekend coming up for us here and our plans have got me super excited! Having some girlfriends over with their kids! Going to spoil my friends with cinnamon rolls, lemon cake, mimosas….maybe some brunch!
On Monday, we are celebrating the first day of lent in Greece. Or as we call “Clean Monday”. People don’t eat meat or any other dairy products on this day. Families gather together and celebrate by flying kites and having picnics. Sometimes you’ll hear bits of competitive comments among kite flyers—whose kite is the furthest or which one stays the longest in the sky. It’s really fun! Hoping we have good weather! Fingers crossed!
I’m definitely going to be doing more outdoorsy things with the fam! Spring is the best time to really enjoy the beauty of this country! This season is idyllic for the marveller!
〰️
I wanted to add that there is so much happening around the world right now. Our hearts are a bit heavy these days. It’s hard thinking about people who are suffering in other parts of the world—nobody deserves to suffer. God made me be a positive person, so I pray for the world and that people find peace & joy again.
Happy March friends!
xoxo
