Notes 04.22
Hi there! April—already! Spring is my favourite season! In the southern part of Greece, spring brings mornings filled with the fragrance of orange tree blossoms, lush greenery and the sound of birds chirping—I just love it! Spring is also the perfect season to enjoy the outdoors comfortably before summer’s heatwaves.
I’m hoping that from here on we get to enjoy spring’s weather with more al fresco dining, evening hangs and picnics! Last month, we got to enjoy “Clean Monday” but that was pretty much it since the past two weeks the three of us have been at home with covid. So yeah, definitely looking forward to more outings!
To-Do list
Lots of prepping needs to be done in our yard and balcony for upcoming garden hangs and Easter Sunday! I’m hoping to find a nice round iron table and chairs—really inspired by Ralph Lauren’s restaurant in Paris! It’s sooooo beautiful!! Totally my vibe!
It wouldn’t feel like spring if there was no spring cleaning to be done! After two weeks of not being able to do much, our home definitely needs at little love! Then it’s the closets! Going to make a list of all the things that have caught my eye for spring/summer and see what works with what I’ve already got. I want to invest in some key pieces this year and slowly build a classic wardrobe.
I’ve been really inspired on making new dishes lately! I made roasted cabbage with Dijon onion sauce and been experimenting with new salads. G wants us to make homemade pizza which I’m really excited about! He’s always been into baking and cooking….so, we’re going to attempt that! So, stay tuned! Lots of new recipes coming your way!
Lately
I told myself that I wouldn’t purchase any books until I’ve read the ones I’ve got! There are so many books on my TBR list that I forget to read the ones that I’ve already got! But….since I’m a sucker for books, I couldn’t resist and bought coffee table books! 😬 Currently I’m reading “The Artist’s Way” and “City Of Girls“—totally different books, I know!
Started watching these new TV series on Apple TV that I’m really enjoying “WeCrashed” and “Suspicion“. Another one that I really enjoyed was “Inventing Anna.” really kept me at the edge of my seat!
As some of you may know, I’m a big time film lover! Fridays are our family movie night and we really liked “The Adam Project” and “Against The Ice” on Netflix. This week’s fam movie night is the new Ghostbusters movie on Apple TV—so excited! We really love the Ghostbusters!
Thoughts
This is so random after writing all of the things above but I want to share a little bit of how I’ve been feeling lately because sometimes we just need to be vulnerable, real and open about things so we can lift each other up!
The current events of the world have really got me feeling a bit down these past few days. Been feeling lots of uncertainty! I feel like my optimistic side has taken too many hits lately.
As I was FaceTiming my mother the other day, I saw that she was feeling the same way….sad, disappointed, shocked by people’s actions….she was so upset! So, I said to her : “Mom, don’t be upset. We can’t control what’s happening around the world. There is so much darkness in the world and it seems that more bad things just keep happening….be the LIGHT in this world! Do good things and keep on being a good person. This is what the world needs!” Saying that to my mom made me realise that it’s exactly what I needed to hear….keep on being positive, pray for more goodness in the world, help someone in any way that you can and before you do that, make sure you do something for yourself and nurture yourself first so in turn you can be all the good things this world needs!
“Shine your Light On the World”-Matthew 5:16
Happy April everyone!
