Notes 04.23

Spring makes its presence more prominent in April—it has a definite feeling to it. A lightness in the air. When you slow down a bit and take notice, you’ll see how everything becomes lush and alive!

Living in the southern part of Greece, it’s the fragrance of the orange blossoms that fills the air that I love the most! Its scent truly transcends the senses. A sense of ease comes over me whenever I sit on our balcony. It’s incredible how nature can generate calmness and joy.

On the Calendar

It’s the month for all outdoor things for us! Pruning our lemon and orange trees, clearing out weeds and grass….re-potting some plants and once that’s done, I’m thinking of planting a vegetable garden! For starters some cherry tomatoes, peppers, herbs….I’m curious to see how well I’ll do!

We’re also on the market for outdoor furniture. Not sure what we want yet but I’ve created a Pinterest board just for garden things as a inspo reference. I did order a marble top bistro table which I know exactly where it will live. Still on the hunt though for that perfect chair.

Easter is coming up and we’re hosting family and friends so, there are quite a few things that we do in preparation for Easter Sunday. I usually make my traditional Greek Easter Cookies for Georgios because he absolutely loves them but honestly, this year I’m not really in the mood for baking. But if my kiddo asks me, I won’t be able to turn him down! His face when he eats them is most rewarding for this mom!

Lately

Rhythms of daily life seem to be the epitome of slow living. Daily tasks (cooking, reading, homework help, work, gym….) are completed in a more subtle, carefree state. I don’t stretch myself thin. I take my time and it’s really given me lots of clarity. I used to be so hard on myself squeezing everything in, making it all perfect….that’s no longer the case.  Slow and intentional is what describes my current state.

Books Notes |                                                                                     The Creative Act is the current book I’m absorbed in. It’s the kind of read that makes you pause and reflect on life, creativity, being—love it! Rick has been a part of my morning routine. If I’m not reading pages from his book, I’m listening to a podcast interview with Rick. I enjoy the things he shares. I’m considering the audio version of the book as well. I’m very drawn to the way he speaks.

I’m also reading Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I mentioned in last month’s notes how excited I was that one of her books turned into a TV series and in turn made my Fridays even better!

Blog Notes |                                                                                                         I’m still navigating through the blogging world. To be honest, there are times I doubt myself and then I remind myself why I started. So, even though I’m taking things slow, I’m enjoying this space and the process. As I said, I’m not being hard on myself any longer and I’m going with the flow of things. It’s starting to feel like a motto—Slow & Intentional.

Thanks for being here and reading along! I truly appreciate it!

Happy April friends!
