” The beauty you see in anything is a reflection of the beauty in you.”
Crisp autumn mornings have set the tone for making my way to our little bistro table in our office again—the one that catches the morning light just right this time of the year. A cup pf coffee in hand, the house still quiet, I take a moment before the day begins. There’s something about this season that feels like coming home to myself. The air carries a familiar shift that stirs something inside me, reminding me how much I love autumn.
There’s a certain magic to October here in Southern Greece. The days still carry the warmth of late summer, yet the light feels softer, more golden. Autumn reveals itself in the turning of grapevine leaves with their amber hues, the first pomegranates making their appearance and neighbours preparing their woodpiles, readying for the season’s chill. The excitement builds up when you think about all the cosy rituals returning—a comforting atmosphere at home, hearty meals, candles lit in the evenings, soft knits. There’s nothing quite like the way fall makes you feel—comforted, inspired and full of anticipation.
As of late
The past few weeks have been a slow return to rhythm. The rush of late summer has softened into a steadier pace—school mornings, work and little pockets of time that feel more structured. In this calm, I’ve been turning inward—reclaiming my healthy habits, savouring nourishing meals and moving my body in ways that feel good. A deliberate care that reminds me how important it is to nurture myself—body and mind—as the seasons shift.
At the same time, corners of our home are getting a little refresh before the cold sets in. The kitchen, bathroom and Georgios’ room are getting all getting small updates—a bit of paint, some rearranging and styling that’s renter-friendly yet still feels elevated. There’s something so satisfying about making changes to a space—it transforms not only the room but the way it feels to be in it and the way we feel within it.
On that note, I’ve been on the hunt for the right chairs to have in the office—something that compliments our little bistro table vibe. I keep coming back to the idea of wicker chairs, something like this or this. The Ikea daybed we added when we first moved in has been such a great find and one I’d highly recommend if you’re updating a spare bedroom. Its versatility fits our space perfectly and makes the room feel inviting.
I’ve always believed in truly living in your home—shifting things around from time to time, making it feel right, comfortable and lived-in. It’s in those small changes that a home becomes one you truly love.
On my mind
Every month I share a moodboard and a quote that speaks to my heart—a refection of what inspires me in this moment. Lately, I’ve been thinking about the ways we connect with one another, how small gestures, shared thoughts and fleeting moments can touch our hearts and why we feel the urge to share them, even with people online. Life often feels fast but it’s in these gentle pauses, in noticing the beauty around us, that I find meaning and gratitude.
The images and quotes I collect are more than decoration—they carry sentiments, memories and subtle emotions. Sharing these pieces of ourselves—through a photograph, a thought or a captured moment—invites us to reach out, to feel and to nurture connection.
In times that feel heavy, we are reminded to be light in the world, as the Bible says, “You are the light of the world. A town build on a hill cannot be hidden.” I’m inspired by people who share their passions, their thoughts and who open themselves up to the world—raw, unfiltered and real. Reading their stories reminds me of the power of showing up with authenticity and heart, and it’s something I want to focus on myself, so that more goodness and light can be in the world.
This October, I want to explore these thoughts more—share more of myself, embrace the season and find joy in the simple pleasures around me. I’m so happy fall is here. The changing colours, softer light and slower pace—these are the little things that make this time of year feel full. Life is really quite simple. It’s about noticing these small joys, spending time with what uplifts the soul and enjoying moments that make us feel present.
Fall has always felt like the season of the soul to me—a time to slow down, enjoy the little things and make space for what brings happiness. This month, I want to lean into that feeling, savour the moments that matter and spend time on the things that light me up.
Until next time,
Demi
