Notes 02.23
‘Tis the season of joy, warmth and the sheer excitement when the jingle bells start jingling! Wherever you look, there’s festivity and merriment in the air and I’m all for it!
This year I feel very calm about the upcoming festivities compared to how stressed I used to be in the past. I guess it’s my appreciation for slow, carefree moments and my ‘spur-of-the-moment’ state that has consumed me the last couple of months. It might even coincide with the fact that I long for intimate moments with loved ones more than anything else. Sure, I’m into the hustle and bustle of the holidays but I feel in my heart a sense of serenity for the upcoming holidays and I’m going with it!
Calendar
Our Friday movie nights are solely for holiday movies! G and I binge watch Christmas movies and once schools out, it’s on weekdays too! We always start off with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Home Alone! Paris and I have already watched our first holiday movie, The Noel Diary—loved and highly recommend it!
Baked goods is another thing on the agenda for the upcoming days—I love being more in the kitchen these days and since Georgio has always enjoyed baking, my boy has suggested making gingerbread cookies and cinnamon rolls. I always make Ambitious Kitchen cinnamon roll recipe—it’s the absolute best! Still on the search for a good gingerbread recipe so, if you have any suggestions, send them my way!
I’m thinking of merry-ing up a few other spaces in our home; some garlands around door frames, velvet ribbons, taper candles….I even had the thought of putting a small tree in our kitchen….still processing it! I’m aspiring for Christmas-y feels everywhere!
Friendly Note | My note for this time of the year is to stay grounded and true to the things that fill you up.The holiday season can be overwhelming and hard at times. I have experienced the pressure of it all in some form or another. Find things that light you up and make you feel happy. It’s okay to kindly turn down things that don’t align with your values. True joy lies in the things that fill our heart whatever they may be. So, make sure you do more of that and enjoy this magical time of the year!
Happy Holidays!
